The company SMO developed a tree grading machine in order to upgrade the tree grading process at Sylva. A camera system on top of the machine measures several parameters such as length, thickness and number of branches on the tree. The machine can grade up to 10.000 plants per hour, which is 2.5 times faster than the traditional manual method.
